Summer Scholars Online Session I Admitted Student Checklist

Below you will find links for information regarding the Summer Scholars Online Session I (June 27 - July 9, 2021) program.

Students who applied to Summer Scholars (on campus) will receive an admission decision on or before April 16, 2021. Our Summer Scholars Online Session I & II FAQ page will help answer questions regarding the daily schedule, attendance policy, and more! Summer Scholars students do not need to complete the checklist items until they have received an admission decision from Notre Dame Pre-College Programs on or before April 16, 2021.

SUMMER SCHOLARS ONLINE SESSION I STUDENT CHECKLIST 

To secure your spot in the program, complete the following items listed below. You’ll find specific instructions on how to complete each requirement by scrolling down to each action item. These items must be completed in their entirety by the deadlines provided.

  • Submit your Enrollment Fee - Deadline May 12, 2021 
  • Parent/Legal Guardian complete all steps in DocuSign email - Available May 18, 2021; Deadline June 1, 2021
  • Activate NetID & Create Password - Available May 18, 2021; Deadline June 1, 2021

REVIEW SUMMER SCHOLARS ONLINE FAQ PAGE

 

1. Complete your confirmation form no later than May 12, 2021. To access the form, please log in to your Applicant Status Page

  • Once logged in, admitted students will find the Confirmation Form link at the bottom of the page. 
  • Please Note: Students must complete and submit the Confirmation Form first in order to pay the enrollment fee (Step 2). 

 

2. Submit the $300 enrollment fee via credit card on your Applicant Status Page by May 12, 2021. 

  • You must complete your Confirmation Form (Step 1) before submitting your enrollment fee. 
  • Refer to our Summer Scholars Online “Tuition, Fees, and Financial Aid” for tuition information for Summer Scholars Online Session I.  The enrollment fee is $300 and the final tuition fee is $1,450 for a total of $1,750.

 

3. A parent or legal guardian needs to complete DocuSign, which will be sent out via email on May 18, 2021. Contact us at precoll@nd.edu if your parent or guardian has not received this email by May 19, 2021. DocuSign contains our required University Waiver which must be electronically signed by a parents or legal guardian. 

 

4. Activate NetID & Create Password

  • You will receive an email to the email address provided in your application from noreply@okta.com with the subject "Activate your Notre Dame Account.” Follow on-screen directions until your NetID (alphanumeric) is activated. You will also gain access to your Notre Dame student email account, which is how you will receive important information from our office, your professor(s), and other campus departments once the program has begun. Please note: record your NetID and remember your password as you will lose access to see your NetID once you leave this screen

 

5. Enroll in Okta

  • Go to gmail.nd.edu. The first time you go to your Notre Dame email, you will be asked to register with the Okta login system. Follow on-screen instructions to register with Okta.​​​​

 

6. Set Up Email Forwarding

To ensure that all university communications are received, please complete the following steps:

  • Login to your ND email account.
  • Your login is your netID. Your password is the one you established when activating your NetID (step 4). 
  • On the top right corner click on the gear icon and select > Settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP > Add a Forwarding Address. Include the email address you check regularly so that your ND email account will be linked to it.
  • Click > Next > Proceed > OK
  • A verification message will be sent to the chosen address. Click the verification link in the message.
  • Go back to the settings page (Gear Icon > Settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP) and refresh your browser.
  • Select > Forward a copy of incoming mail to. Choose what you want to happen with the Gmail copy of your emails. We recommend keeping Gmail's copy in the Inbox.
  • At the bottom of the page, click > Save Changes

 

7. Complete ND Roll Call

To officially register at Notre Dame, you must complete the Roll Call registration process. Please note: Roll Call will not be active until May 24, 2021.

  • Visit https://rollcall.nd.edu/. Sign in using your NetID and password.
  • Follow on screen directions to complete the process.If you have questions concerning the Roll Call process, please contact the Registrar.
  • If you experience any difficulties with your NetID or password, please contact the Office of Information Technologies (OIT) 574-631-8111 during regular business hours (8am-5pm, M-F). Have your NetID number available to expedite the process. 

 

8. Submit your Final Tuition Payment

  • Submit the final tuition fee via credit card on your Applicant Status Page by June 1, 2021.
  • Refer to our Summer Scholars Online “Tuition, Fees, and Financial Aid” for tuition information for Summer Scholars Online Session I.  The enrollment fee is $300 and the final tuition fee is $1,450 for a total of $1,750.

 

WELCOME LETTER: REQUIRED COURSE MATERIALS 

A welcome letter from your professor along with required course materials will be sent to you in early June which contains information from your professors and program details. 

  • Please contact our office at precoll@nd.edu if you do not receive this letter by June 8, 2021.

 

SUMMER SCHOLARS ONLINE SESSION I TECHNOLOGICAL REQUIREMENTS

In order to have an efficient and effective online experience, we require students to have the following in order to enroll in Summer Scholars Online: 

  • A reliable high speed internet connection
  • A device with working webcam (for Zoom class sessions and group work) with the latest versions of internet browsers, plug-ins, and software.
  • A device with enough storage capacity for assignments and to download software, as required by your professor.
  • *We also highly suggest finding a distraction-free space in your home that can be used during class times.

 

SUMMER SCHOLARS ONLINE SESSION I VIRTUAL ORIENTATION

  • Virtual orientation will be held Sunday, June 27 from 3pm- 4pm (EDT). Students are required to attend this event and parents are welcome to join! An email is forthcoming regarding registering for your required virtual orientation. Continue to check your email on a regular basis. 

 

REVIEW ONLINE PROGRAMMING CODE OF CONDUCT

 

REVIEW ATTENDANCE POLICY

Because this is a college credit bearing course, it is required that students who are admitted must make a commitment to attend all virtual class sessions. If necessary, we will allow two absences throughout the program. 

If you need to miss a class contact your Professor and Course Facilitator prior to class time.

  • Absence #1, you will receive an email from the Pre-College office reminding you that you have missed a class.
  • Absence #2, you will receive an email notifying you that you may not miss any future classes.
  • Absence #3 you will receive an email from the Pre-College office with the option to withdraw from the course.
