Message to Parents and Counselors
Thank you for visiting the Summer Scholars website, and for your interest in Notre Dame’s pre-college programs!
Whether your child yearns to be an environmental biologist, produce the next great novel or film, or conquer the stock market, this academic program is a great opportunity. And there is much more to learn beyond the classroom: the experience of living in residence halls with students from all over the country, participating in social concerns projects in the community, or just sharing thoughts and dreams with new friends.
It is said that one of the greatest decisions we ever make is the choice of college. These important developmental years can set the path for the rest of a young person’s life. Summer Scholars will surely be a challenging and fun time, but perhaps most importantly, a time to discover what the college experience can be. Your child may or may not ultimately choose to attend Notre Dame as a college student. What is important is the pre-college experience itself and the contribution it will make to his or her development as a student and as a person.
Notre Dame is known for its sense of family. We hope your son or daughter will have the experience of joining the Notre Dame family, and sharing in that great tradition this summer.
Please share any thoughts, questions or concerns with me. I look forward to hearing from you — and to welcoming your child to Notre Dame next summer!

Director of Pre-College Programs
Scholarship Opportunities
Limited scholarship funds are available for socio-economically and ethnically underrepresented students.
In order for qualified students to apply for financial aid, we request that the student mail a letter to the director by April 1, 2010, stating and giving an explanation of their need. Letters should be sent to our mailing address.
Decisions regarding admission will be made regardless of financial aid request, and notification of financial aid will be included with admission decision letters.
